ESAFF Uganda developed KilimoMart Application to address the current market challenges and provide access to markets and information for organic small-scale farmers, especially women. The Application also promotes interaction between consumers and small-scale farmers as well as different stakeholders. The name KilimoMart means Agriculture (Kilimo) Market (Mart). The KilimoMart was launched in May 2020 by the then Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture, Tourism and Natural Resources of the East African Legislative Assembly. KilimoMart is an Online Market Application that can be accessed on Mobile Android systems and Web-based systems.The Market Application provides information on the market in the EAC, especially in Uganda and Kenya. The Application provides for interaction through Chats and Forum platform between small-scale farmers and other stakeholders.

KilimoMart is focused on building the skills of small-scale farmers, especially women and youths and empowering them in overcoming economic challenges. KilimoMart works to ensure livelihoods are resilient and profitable by supporting small-scale farmers (especially youth and women) to become economically productive and profitable. KilimoMart focuses on organic products given the health implications related to inorganic products.
